Better Moves is an exploration of how our transport system can enable us all to get there. It’s Aotearoa's first ever national-scale vision for a better transport future.
How we get around helps shape the lives we lead and the places we live. It connects us with each other, with opportunity and with the places we love. Done well, it can give us more freedom, healthier lives and stronger communities — while caring for Te Taiao.
All Aboard has brought together the evidence and explored different possible futures for how we get around. We asked what Aotearoa could achieve if we do what works, do it well, and do it together. We looked beyond pollution alone. We explored what these futures could mean for our health and environment, how much getting around costs us, the vehicles and resources we need, and the places where we live.
Over the next 50 years, Better Moves makes possible:
