Mill Road Judicial Review
Local concern was raised immediately following the news Mill Road was going to be included in the $12 billion New Zealand Upgrade Program package in January 2020.
The 21.5km Mill Rd arterial route, was planned to provide an alternative road between Manukau and Drury.

According to the Zero Carbon Act Auckland is meant to half it’s transport emissions by 2030. According to Waka Kotahi’s own analysis Mill Road was going to lead to a 6% increase in transport emissions by 2030. Find out more here.
On April 29th 2021 the goverment announced that it was looking to cut Mill Road due to emissions concerns and budget blow out.
